Are you constantly tugging at your wig to keep it from shifting on your head? Are you afraid to move your head too fast, fearing the scarf you are wearing will pull off your hair?
Do you hate the headaches that come from clipping your wig onto your scalp? Do you fear going swimming with a wig?
We have many different accessories that help with all of these problems. There are wig grips, adhesives, tape, you name it! These are all great options that help you feel more confident and comfortable when wearing your style.
This thin, soft, velour band is adjustable and very comfortable. It is a great option if you are undergoing chemotherapy or have alopecia. This grip comes in three colors: Tan, Black, or Chocolate Brown.
What we love about this hair grip is that it adjusts with velcro. This makes it super easy to fit to your head and is very soft and comfortable all around! The one thing I would mention is, if you are wearing a lace front style or a monofilament top or part, you might be able to see this peek through in your wig part or hairline.
This a great option if you are wearing a lace front, mono part or monofilament top style as it features a unique lace area at the top for a very natural look. This Stay Put Wig Grip is made with elastic, velvet fabric and features a thin adjustable backing for added comfort. It easily adjusts with a thin, elastic band that slides through metal adjuster clips.
This is a great option if you find the wig grips uncomfortable, maybe too visible, or fear they won’t hold during certain activities.
It Stays roll-on adhesive by Jon Renau is water soluble for easy removal and has an easy roll-on applicator for smooth and clean application. It has a strong hold and you can use it safely on all cap constructions. You can even use it on the nape of your neck for extra security. If you get sweaty, the hold will loosen until your sweat dries and it will re-adhere nicely once dry.
We also carry Brandywine Lace Front Adhesive. This adhesive has an easy-to-apply dabber. It can hold your wig in place for 7-10 days! It has a very strong hold and will need Brandywine Lace Remover to break the hold.
Brandywine Lace Front Adhesive
Tape is a great option if you are not a fan of adhesives. When applying the tape, be sure your wig and skin are clean for a better stick.
Jon Renau's Lace Front Wig Tape Roll - Blue is a double-sided tape which is designed perfectly for lace front hairpieces. When using the blue tape, use small pieces. They can be put right on the lace or on the nape. Adjust your wig where you want it before you press down to adhere the tape to your head.
We also have Jon Renau's Wig Tape Roll - Red which is used for non-lace front hairpieces. Both of these tapes are great options that we would recommend!

]]>Imagine this, you decide to go out of your comfort zone and try a new style or a new brand. You feel a little nervous, but excited! You receive your package and you eagerly open it up and then you see it, the wig is inside out and it didn’t come with a hairnet. How could this be? Your other wigs did not come in this condition! You think this item must have been used by someone else. Well, I’m here to assure you that this is not the case!
All wigs are packaged in a unique way to ensure the best protection for the fibers, based on the specific style of hair. This can vary by brand and style. Let’s dig into some different packaging that you might receive!
Rene of Paris Sage
Your wig may come packaged with the fibers on the outside and wrapped in a net. Many times, there will be tissue paper in the cap or on the sides to help the wig keep its shape.
Raquel Welch Wavy Day
Your wig could also come inside out with a net wrapped around the fibers. Oftentimes, when a wig is inside out, it is secured with bobby pins to help ensure that the wig doesn’t move around too much during shipping and handling.
Noriko Jackson
Or, your wig may come inside out without a net. This does not mean your wig was used or tried on. It is simply because the manufacturer chose to package the wig without a hairnet.
Rene of Paris Medium Top Piece
Some wigs or toppers might not even come in a box at all! Some brands like Rene of Paris, Toni Brattin, or Hairdo distribute some of their wigs in large plastic bags.
Toni Brattin Trendsetter
Some brands like Toni Brattin or Hairdo may send their wigs in different packaging, even if it is the same style! The same style could come in a cardboard box or it could come in a large plastic bag. So, don’t be surprised if your Trendsetter came in a box last time, but in a plastic bag this time. Nothing is wrong with the wig, it’s just different packaging!
I hope this clears up any confusion regarding the packaging of your wigs. We understand that different packaging with your style can cause some concern, but I would like to assure you that we will make sure you get a beautiful wig regardless of how the manufacturer packaged it. :-)
Much love, The NBW Fam 💕

We are so excited to introduce one of Belle Tress’ new wigs that we are literally obsessed with, the Pure Ambrosia! This stunning wig features gorgeous, heat-friendly curls that are sure to turn heads. We can't stop talking about the Pure Ambrosia and we are confident that you will love it just as much as we do! It's a perfect choice for anyone looking to enhance their natural beauty and add a touch of glamor to their everyday style.
The Pure Ambrosia measures to be about 19” overall. If you wear the Belle Tress Americana, but want something a little longer, or if you wear the Belle Tress Pure Honey and you want something a little shorter, then the Pure Ambrosia is the perfect style for you!
Americana | → | Pure Ambrosia | → | Pure Honey |
The Pure Ambrosia features an extended lace front which is made to create a natural hairline all the way to your temples. In addition to the extended lace front, it also has a monofilament part. A monofilament part, or partial mono, creates the appearance of natural hair growth coming from your scalp. With a natural cap construction, what is there not to love?!
Pure Ambrosia Cap Construction
The color of the Pure Ambrosia that our beautiful model is wearing is called Cookies N Cream Blonde. The name Cookies N Cream is derived from the famous flavor of ice cream that many people, including us, enjoy. Belle Tress truly captured the essence of Cookies & Cream ice cream in this gorgeous color! The combination of creamy light, pearl, and pure ash blonde tones, along with light and medium brown roots, perfectly reflects the delectable colors found in Cookies & Cream ice cream.

The predictions are out and top hairstyle trends for 2024 range from long barrel curls to short shag layers and many options in between. If we could sum up the feel of this year it would be iconic looks with very intentional, yet subtle, changes to make the looks our own. Take a peek at our selection of top 10 wig hairstyles for the new year, 2024!
We are starting out with the ultimate blended look for 2024, Casey by Amore. Her double monofilament cap is so comfortable while giving you the option to change the part, add a headband, or gel up to add a little extra spunk and accentuate her layering. She reminds me of a pixie and yet a bob, while pulling a trump card with those bangs and layers. This style is truly versatile and fit for any age to pull off!
Shown: Casey by Amore
Supermodel hair with intentional layering is definitely sweeping through the wig world and bringing a lot of smiles to wearers. We chose this piece because it comes with that gorgeous wave but also because it has heat friendly fiber so you can style it to your taste. Gabor did a wonderful job staying on trend for 2024 with their collection, Designer Series.
Shown: Ready For It by Gabor
Looking for sexy but subtle? Haven mixes choppy layers with a little curl making it the perfect hairstyle to spice up anyone's wardrobe in 2024... without being overkill. It would seem bobs aren't going away this year, nor are those choppy layers. In fact, they are becoming more of a highlight! Shop more ➡ Curly Bobs
Shown: Haven by Estetica
Let those full bouncy curls run natural! This season is all about letting them rule your day, because as we all know curls keep all of the secrets. Kim Kimble's new wig line has been a hot topic, partially due to her focus on embracing a curl's natural glow. So whether it is natural for you or not, we say give curly a try this year! Shop ➡ All Curls
Shown: Makayla by Kim Kimble
Shags, and anything "shag-esk" have been in vogue since 2023 and it doesn't appear to be slowing down. The attraction of a shake-and-go style is hard to beat and with a shag it really is convenient, easy, fun, and flattering. Envy's Amber really hits the mark with this cut and if a shag is on your wardrobe list we recommend this one!
Shown: Amber by Envy
Full bangs have become somewhat "iconic" the past couple years. The twist this season: we are a little less concerned with them being connected by additional layering. However that piece-y layering is perfectly acceptable and in our opinion it comes down to what you enjoy on you. Here are a couple of options below of some very trendy but fun styles to try!
Shown: Mariah by Henry Margu & Alva by Noriko
Many are making the dive back into the 70's feel with big barrel voluminous curls and feathered curly bangs. Raquel Welch called it with this style, and though it has been out for a spell we have definitely seen it gain popularity fairly quickly. Now's your chance to make a comeback with little hassle. The perk of wigs ;) just pop it on and grab your roller blades if you really want to reminisce. We can't wait to see how you wear this piece, tag us on Instagram so we can see your take on the modern 70's look: @namebrandwigs

This cut just really doesn't go out of style - Ignite by Jon Renau. For years we have seen so many women leave raving reviews on this hairstyle. Our suspicion is the versatility and ability to compliment so many face shapes making it a staple piece to have. We love her A-line cut and heat defiant fiber for the flexibility to create any look you want!
Shown: Ignite by Jon Renau
This season Soft Bobs are showing women how to "casually" enjoy the bob look. Focusing on slight volume and light layering to create a gentler appearance than your traditional blunt cut bobs. Here is our top pick, Esprit by Ellen Wille.

You are browsing for a new style and you stumble upon the most beautiful wig. You eagerly go to select the size and... oh no! It only comes in an average cap. Frustrating, right? Trust me, you're not alone in this experience! But don’t worry, I have hand picked six of our most popular styles that only come in an average cap and found the perfect sister style in a large cap.
The beautiful Belle Tress Caliente is a classic style. This long bob, or lob, has the perfect amount of beach waves. The Caliente is a heat friendly style and it has a monofilament part and lace front.
The Jon Renau Scarlett Large is the perfect large version of the Caliente. While it doesn’t have a monofilament part or is heat friendly, it does have an extended lace front.
If you're a fan of long, sleek hair, then you're probably familiar with the Raquel Welch Scene Stealer. This stunning wig features a monofilament top and a lace front, providing a natural and realistic look. However, if you're looking for an alternative that offers the same length and sleekness, I highly recommend the Jon Renau Zara Large Cap. Like the Scene Stealer, the Zara Large Cap also features a monofilament top and a lace front, ensuring a comfortable and seamless fit.
The Gabor Modern Motif is a sophisticated style that is perfect for any age! This textured bob has a lace front and a monofilament part. Sassy, yet classy! The Raquel Welch Editor’s Pick Large shares a lot of similarities with the Modern Motif and has a few extra features. The Editor’s Pick Large has a complete monofilament cap and is heat friendly, giving you more styling options compared to the Modern Motif!
The Noriko Alva is one of our most popular bobs, known for its natural and sleek look, as well as its perfect bang. The Gabor Stepping Out Large has all of these great qualities. While it is slightly longer compared to the Noriko Alva, it features a monofilament part that enhances its natural appearance.
The Estetica Blaze is a fan favorite among those who are looking for a fun and bold style. Its long textured curly waves are simply timeless and will never go out of style. The Jon Renau Sarah Large is a perfect sister style to the Estetica Blaze. The Sarah Large offers a few extra inches of length, giving you even more versatility in your styling options. What really sets the Sarah Large apart is its hand-tied and monofilament cap, which makes it incredibly soft and easy to style.
The stunning Estetica Jones is perfect for turning heads at any occasion. This choppy shag style features a standard cap for a comfortable fit. If you're looking for a similar large style with a messy look, you might also like the Toni Brattin Trendy Plus. This wig also has a standard cap, textured layers, and razor-cut bangs for a trendy and fashionable appearance.
We understand how important it is for you to find a new beautiful style that suits you perfectly. Everyone deserves to have gorgeous hair, regardless of their cap size. Our customer service team is more than happy to help you find that perfect style in your perfect size that will make you feel amazing. Please reach out with any questions!

Who says gray has to be boring or plain? We are thrilled to introduce you to the stunning new Estetica color, Graydient Storm! This color is absolutely breathtaking and is guaranteed to help you make a bold and sophisticated statement. With Graydient Storm, you can embrace a whole new level of elegance and style. We are completely obsessed with this color, and we can't wait to dive into all the amazing details with you!
Graydient Storm features dark brown roots that seamlessly transition into beautiful light gray and silver tones towards the ends. This creates a modern and high fashion look that is sure to turn heads. Think of a salt and pepper color, except it has dark brown peppering instead of black. Check out our Jamison wig in Graydient Storm. It's truly a showstopper!
Graydient Storm is a unique blend of grays, but it shares similarities to many other colors among different brands. For example, the Belle Tress color Chrome is a similar color to the Graydient Storm. As you can see from the photo of the Belle Tress Nitro 16, Chrome contains more silver tones, and the roots are not as long as those in Graydient Storm. If you are looking for a darker color with the same gray elements, Graydient Storm would be an excellent choice for you.
Graydient Storm is also a great transition into gray color! If you're currently rocking a dark brown shade like the Jon Renau color 8/32 (Cocoa Bean) but have been considering transitioning to a stylish gray color, then Graydient Storm could be a winner! Check out the Jon Renau Bryce wig in 8/32 alongside the Estetica Avalon wig in Graydient Storm. These two options side by side will help you visualize the smooth transition from your current dark brown shade to the trendy gray color you're interested in.
If you are an avid Estetica wearer, you might be thinking: Wait, haven’t I seen this color before? Well, you aren’t alone. The Graydient Smoke has a very similar resemblance to the Estetica Icy Shadow; however, the colors are flip-flopped and instead of an icy blonde like you see in the Icy Shadow, it is a silver gray. So, if you like Icy Shadow but want more dark than light, then what are you waiting for!? Here is a photo of the Estetica Avalon in Icy Shadow for reference!
So, what do you think? We would love to hear your opinion on the Graydient Storm. If you have any questions about this color, our customer service team is here to help you! Feel free to reach out to us anytime. We hope you have a great day and an amazing holiday season!

If you wish to style a head wrap on your natural hair it helps to pull your hair into a high pony or bun, pull the fabric towards the back of your head then tie the knot. Separate the ends and wrap each side in a spiral motion. Wrap the spiraled ends around your bun and tuck them into each other. Some people prefer to wear a wig cap or a velvet wig grip under the headwrap to prevent slippage.
We hope that you got some inspiration from these 23 styles. Whether you switch up your style for the year or stick with the same wig you normally wear, you look beautiful either way. We hope that you have a happy, safe, and exciting 2023. Let this be YOUR year!

Looking back on a fabulous 2022, we decided to round-up all of our favorite and most helpful tips from last year! Each tip we have collected is from past blogs, so buckle up, grab a glass of hot cocoa and enjoy our top tips from 2022.
Styling your wig into a braid, ponytail or up-do can create a more natural looking appearance. The more you interact with your hair, the more it looks realistic. For example, if your wig hair is pulled back in a ponytail, or pushed behind your ear, it mimics how people naturally interact with their bio hair. Alternatively, if the wig just sits on your head, then people might be keener to sense something is off. That is why I suggest putting your hair into fun up-dos or add accessories to create a more natural look!
This tip came from the blog "Top Steps to Achieve Natural Looking Wigs”. Click here to go to that blog and learn more.
If you have tried conditioning the wig, and using smooth detangler, and it still has stubborn frizzy ends, we suggest trying to clip some of the trouble pieces. If you feel comfortable, you can carefully trim off some of the frizzy ends to help clean up the style.
If your hairpiece needs more than just a clipping of a rough fiber here or there and could use a full trim, we recommend you bring your wig to a professional to cut.
This tip came from the blog "Do I need a new Wig?". Click here to go to that blog and learn more.
The ideal wig to use while exercising would be lightweight, inexpensive, and cool. Open wefted wigs are going to be the best while you are active, allowing for plenty of air flow to help cool you down. We would suggest wearing synthetic hair fiber because it is more lightweight than human hair, less expensive, and will hold your style while working out. Also, depending on your wear and tear routine with a wig, it can be better to avoid a lace front wig because you do not want them to tear while you are being active.
This tip came from the blog "Tips for Wearing a Wig While Exercising”. Click here to go to that blog and learn more.
Scam sites can take photos from authentic products and then change the title of the product. Instead of the correct brand name or product names, they might have generic descriptions and keywords such as “long wavy,” “short curly,” or “with bangs.”
Here are some wigs listed on a scam site. The ones outlined are pictures of Envy wigs, but they are not labeled as such. The names of the products are generic descriptions. |
This is our website, with the proper label for these products: |
This tip came from the blog "5 Tips to Identify a Wig Scam Site”. Click here to go to that blog and learn more.
Wash your curly wig regularly. Some people prefer to place the hairnet on their curly wig when washing to avoid weighing down and separating the curls. Generally a wig should be washed after around 8-10 wears, although this can vary per person.
Prioritize deep conditioning treatment when washing. Use a leave in conditioner after you’ve had the wig for a while.
Take a little time to reshape the curls after washing by using your fingers. Try twisting curls in the opposite direction if you notice that your curls are not bouncing back properly.
Regular combs and hairbrushes will ruin the wig curls and can leave your style looking frizzy. Wide tooth combs are the best to use on curly hair styles!

Did you just receive a curly wig with some crazy box hair and now you wonder what can I do with this? Many times if a curly wig has been boxed for a length of time it needs a little TLC. Here are a few top tips to help you know what to do next.
First things first, curly wigs need a good shake to wake the fibers up. Take a moment before shaking the wig to decide if you do in fact want to keep the style and if it is a yes, then give it a good shake!
Side Note: The volume of a style will be determined by the amount of permatease and the type of curl pattern. Aside from these factors shaking the wig will begin to restore the style to its intended form.
Next thing to do is comb through the style with your fingers or a wide tooth comb. Piecing out the curls will also help the style to start forming a more natural look.
Now, this is where it gets real interesting. If you find you need to take things a little further to reach your desired look then your BEST friend with a curly or wavy style is…. water. Yes, we said it, the original one-and-only, H2O. Grab a spray bottle, fill it with some water, and start spritzing your wig all over, give it a few shakes, then hang upside down to air dry. If the style is excessively unruly, use more water. If you just want to slightly define the curls, use less water.
Drying the style should only take about 30-40 minutes. Piece out and move the curls around to your preferred look.

Curly hair never goes out of style. Part of the reason for this timelessness is the minimal maintenance needed for synthetic curly wigs.
After using a couple of the how-to tips on caring for your curly wig, soon you will be donning the perfect curls.
( Above: Ellen Wille Girl Mono in Pearl Blonde Rooted)
Separate the hair into larger sections when styling.

(High Octane in RL14/25SS by Raquel Welch | Soft and Subtle in GL14-16SS by Gabor)
(Finn in Vanilla Macchiato by Estetica)
(Avalon in SMOKYROSE by Estetica | Breezy Wave Cut in Midnight Brown by Hairdo)
Separate the hair into smaller sections when styling.
(Jessica in R36F by Estetica | Curl Appeal in Hazelnut by Gabor)
To recap: H2O is your bestie when it comes to curls, take time to shape a few highlight curls after washing, and lastly find a curl pattern you love. ]]>There are many perks to having a lace front wig and properly caring for it will make it last much longer. The lace is very delicate and may tear if not handled carefully, so it is very important to protect the lace from ripping or tearing. Let’s talk about the ways you can prolong the life of your investment.
When putting a lace front wig on, it is extremely important that you hold the back, the ear tabs, or grab behind the lace to avoid applying pressure directly to the lace itself. NEVER try to adjust by pulling on the lace front. Pulling or tugging on the lace (even lightly) will lead to tearing or fraying of the lace, as pictured below:
Always use caution when brushing and use a wide tooth comb. The knotting is fragile and hard brushing may cause excessive shedding of the wig. Getting too close to the base materials could cause punctures as well. When styling, remember to be careful not to puncture the base materials with the brush or any clips and pins you may be using.
The biggest thing to remember when shampooing and conditioning a lace front wig, and this applies to monofilament tops as well, is to keep those high shine products at least 4 inches away from the lace or base materials. Avoid putting conditioning product near any hand tied portion of the wig, focusing the product toward the ends of the hair. Products like conditioner may loosen the knots and cause excessive shedding which can lead to what looks like bald spots in that lace. Other than leaving that 4 inch gap, you will wash and dry lace front wigs the same as any other wig.
Lace front wigs are a great way to achieve a very natural look and have more versatility in styling. Just be careful, keep our suggestions in mind, and your lace front wig could be your secret weapon! Feel free to share with a friend if you found this blog helpful & informative.

]]>One common question we get when helping our customers: “Is lace front a better option and what purpose does it really serve?”. To answer this question, we came up with 4 wonderful reasons to consider a lace front wig!
The lace front is made to blend with your skin and mimic your scalp giving a more natural look than a standard cap, as shown in the examples below. Left to right: Belle Tress City Roast & Estetica Alden
Lace front wigs also tend to be lighter or less dense for a more comfortable fit. Belle Tress Bespoke is a great example of a light-density piece.
With the lighter weight you will also notice that the lace front offers breathability by allowing air flow, which makes the wig cooler and more comfortable.
Versatility is probably the best reason of all! Because the lace front blends with your skin and looks like your natural hairline, you have endless styling options! Whether you like to pull it back into a ponytail, pin it back with a clip, or leave it down and flowy, a lace front wig allows you to enjoy all those options. Raquel Welch Limelight and Jon Renau Miranda Lite have been styled to show you a few of the endless styling possibilities.
There are many brands with great lace front wigs, but Jon Renau’s SmartLace Lite has quickly become one of our favorites! The ear-to-ear lace front has all the wonderful benefits we mentioned: a flawless natural look, lightweight, and countless styling options. Let us know about your favorite lace front wig and tag us on Instagram with your look: @_name_brand_wigs
Here are some of Jon Renau's popular SmartLace Lite wigs:

]]>The Raquel Welch Scene Stealer is one of our more popular styles. This long and layered wig will never go out of style. If this is your go-to wig, you have good taste! However... what if this beauty is out of stock, or maybe you want to try something slightly different? Lucky for you, there are a couple other styles that are very similar to the Raquel Welch Scene Stealer and vice-versa!
Let's talk about the Raquel Welch Scene Stealer first. This beautiful style has a monofilament top, a lace front, and is heat friendly. With this monofilament top, there will be little permatease and there is an option to change the part to your liking. You can also style the Scene stealer with heat so you can leave it slick straight or give it fun bouncy curls.
(Above: Scene Stealer shown in color RL6/28 Bronzed Sable)
If you are looking for something like the Raquel Welch Scene Stealer that does not have heat friendly fibers; the Envy Brooke would be perfect for you. Brooke has a monofilament top and therefore very little permatease. With this style not having heat friendly fibers, you won't have to worry about styling. Just shake it and go! The Envy Brooke also has a lace front, like the Scene Stealer, so it will give the illusion of a natural hairline. Feel free to wear the bangs as is, or off the face. Enjoy how Brooke's beautiful layers frame your face.
(Above: Envy Brooke in Cinnamon Toffee)
Maybe you are looking for something with volume on the crown? If you want that extra oomph that monofilament tops may not give you, then the Noriko Angelica is your girl. The Angelica is long and layered like the beautiful Scene Stealer; however, she differs in that she has a standard cap construction. The standard cap will result in more permatease and will give you the beautiful yet natural volume that you are looking for. Angelica is not a heat friendly style, so just like the Brooke you will not need to worry about any styling.
(Above: Noriko Angelica in Chocolate Swirl)
There are many other wigs that are similar in style, these are only a few! Here at Name Brand Wigs, we are happy to compare colors or styles between brands to help fit your needs. Feel free to share this with a friend if you think they would like one of these styles!

]]>Join us as we talk about a few of our new favorite styles and colors for this gorgeous Fall season and why we love them!
What's not to love about this hair? We are talking dreamy length, waves, and color options! It has that relaxed curl pattern that is dressy enough to wear to a wedding, or casual enough to wear while at the grocery store. Just be prepared for compliments! We could go on and on about how pretty this hair is! One of our favorite things about Belle Tress is how they are always coming out with on-trend styles and colors. Two of their newer colors are some of our very favorites!
Red Penny is eye catching and puts the Fall feels in every step you take. Not for the faint of heart, this hair will draw attention. The color really does take on a different look depending on if you are a warmer or cooler skin tone. Vibrant, bold, and beautiful! (shown on the right, Allegro 18" below)
Brown Sugar with Sweet Cream is our other Belle Tress Fall color favorite. All of us ladies in the office were oohing and aahing about how pretty this color is. This is the kind of color you would spend hours in the salon trying to get your colorist to achieve. It would be our number one color pick for Fall. We love that with both ash and golden tones it works for any skin type : warm, cool, or neutral.
Toni Brattin styles are always a hit, and for good reason. They are a great price point for a beautiful piece. The heat friendly fiber makes them very workable, and with a smaller selection of colors, it makes it easier to narrow things down. Toni Brattin Anytime has the perfect layers which allow you to really have fun styling to your preference. We would suggest the Jon Renau Contour Fiber Creme for some extra hold and styling options.
Oh so chic is the first thing that comes to mind when I look at the Raquel Welch Current Events. This A-line super straight bob is so sleek. I also love that it works for any age. And no need for frequent trims to keep the length. It also comes in some of our favorite shaded Raquel Welch colors like Shaded Sand (SS16/21), Shaded Iced Sweet Cream (SS16/22), and Shaded Iced Latte Macchiato (SS17/23).
Thanks for joining us for our Fall Favorites! If you have any questions or want to know more about these styles don't hesitate to reach out.

]]>Here at Name Brand Wigs we strive to help our customers and provide the best quality we can. It hurts us to know that there are scam sites trying to trick people and make people leery about purchasing from any online company. We have gathered some tips to help identify a potential scam site so you can shop more confidently.
Some scam sites take the model photos from real pictures of actual products, so it can be tricky to notice something is off because you recognize the image. That’s why looking at the title and product name is a good way to identify a scam (Blog tip #1). Other times, scam sites use photos of celebrities instead of actual product photos. This is a clear identifier that the site might not be legitimate.
All of the images outlined in red are photos of celebrities, not of models wearing a wig.
If a deal on a high-quality wig seems too good to be true, it probably is. Comparing prices is always a good idea. List prices of wigs sold by reputable wig retailers may differ by dollars and cents - however, not by hundreds of dollars.
Pictured below is a listing from a scam site using an Ellen Wille product picture and a list price of only $28.27. |
Here is the actual product on our website with the current pricing, and as you can see, the price is very different. |
Here is another example of a scam site listing this image with a very low price (£94.00 is about $91.26 USD). |
And here is the legitimate Jon Renau item on our site for the correct current pricing: |
Some scam sites work very hard to create their own reviews on their sites to make them look more legitimate. If you are not sure about a site, never just trust the reviews on the site. Visit customer review websites about the online wig store you plan to purchase from, or even do a quick Google search for the website name and “reviews” or “scam.”
Here is a screen shot of this scam site, Urhair, with overwhelmingly positive reviews on their site. |
But here is a website review page (from Trustpilot.com) with real customers leaving reviews for the same scam site Urhair. A news article from BBC about wig scam sites said, "Attempts have been made to make those bad reviews look better, according to Trustpilot, which says it detected and removed hundreds of fabricated positive reviews created by Urhair or other parties working on their behalf." |
Legitimate companies always list a phone number, email, or address. A website that does not list a phone number or email is probably a scam. Some scam sites have contact forms, which can be a good sign, but look around for a phone number, email, or address, if these aren't present, something is off.
Here is a screen shot of a scam site with only a contact form to be able to reach the company. |
Here is a screen shot from our website. Our contact information is in multiple areas on our site, and we try to make it easy to access us by providing our hours, phone number, email, and address at the bottom of every page. Most of our competitors have this as well, but a scam site will not. |
Be on the lookout for these sites that have been identified as scams:
www.urhair.com
www.wigsdo.com
www.hairextensionsale.com
www.howigs.com
www.rewigs.com
www.wigway.com
With scam sites you might order an item and it never arrives, and then you find out too late that you are unable to contact the company. Or you might receive a wig, but it is wildly different from the description.
Be careful out there! We hope this helps you navigate through wig sites and gives you more confidence in deciding where to buy your next new style.

ELLEN WILLE has some of the most beautiful colors! That part is no secret, but what some people might not know is Ellen Wille takes their colors very seriously and makes sure each color is unique in their own way. The hand painted highlights showcase the type of color only a truly talented hair colorist could create.
You may notice colors with similar names while browsing through this brand, for example: Caramel Rooted, Caramel Mix, and Caramel Lighted. So what's the difference? (We'll let you in on the secret).
Most base colors are a blend of 3 different color tones creating a "color theme". For example, Caramel would be the "color theme". The prefix or suffix will give you a hint how the colors are blended into the piece. We broke it down for you here:
Mix |
A blend of highlights and lowlights for a most natural look |
Rooted/Shaded |
Natural rooting using a shade a level or two darker than the base |
Dark |
A darker variety of the base color |
Light |
A brighter version of the base color |
Lighted |
Highlighted bangs or flash front |
Hot |
A more vivid variety of the color |
Tipped |
Lighter tipped ends of the hair |
Toned |
When the root is applied only to the top of the head (where as "Rooted" is throughout the whole cap) |
Flame Mix is a blend of dark burgundy red, bright cherry red, and dark auburn blend. The picture below shows this color:
Hot Flame Mix is similar, but with the "Hot" prefix, it communicates there will be a more vivid variety of highlights as you can see in the image below:
Champagne Rooted is a blend of light beige blonde, medium honey blonde, and platinum blonde with dark roots. It is pictured below:
Light Champagne Rooted will be similar to Champagne Rooted, but is a lighter variation as you can see in the picture below:
What some people don't know is that even with the color terms, such as Mix, Hot, or Rooted, there can still be differences between the colors from style to style. This is an artistic choice made by the designers, and they handcraft what they feel the style needs, making each piece unique. For example, let's look at Hot Flame Mix again:
Ellen Wille Wigs - Point in Hot Flame Mix
|
Ellen Wille Wigs - Talia Mono in Hot Flame Mix
|
You can see the style Point (Left) is more of a bright blend while the style Talia Mono (Right) has a lot of the Bright Cherry red in front and fades to more of the Dark Burgundy in the back. The mixes change from piece to piece but the color theme will be the same.
Who doesn’t love the feeling of walking away from a hair salon, and absolutely loving the fresh, personal look created by the hair stylist? If this resonates with you, Ellen Wille colors will make you feel fabulous! We hope you have enjoyed looking a little closer at the Ellen Wille colors with us! Feel free to reach out if you still have questions about Ellen Wille colors.

Here are 5 styles that we just love and thought you should know about! They are great for people looking to try wigs or hairpieces for the first time, or perhaps you are even a seasoned wig wearer and haven't had the pleasure of trying one of these beauties. They are worth a look and who knows... maybe even a wear!
The first option is great for beginner hairpiece wearers, and can provide some extra thickness to your hair.
EasiPieces are 100% Remy Human Hair and have pressure sensitive clips to attach. You can add different sizes of EasiPieces or Toppers to blend in with your own bio hair, to add natural looking thickness.
To add even more volume try wearing a topper with these. We suggest the toppers EasiPart HD 18" or EasiPart HD 12" which are available in many different colors and sizes.
Click here for a blog we have taking a closer look at the EasiPieces.

]]>Have you ever tried out a new brand of wigs and been surprised by how full or sparse the hair is? This is due to the brand’s choices for what they want as their wig density. Wig density refers to how much hair is on your synthetic or human hair wig. The higher the density of your hair piece, the fuller it will look; the lower the density, the thinner it will look.
From style to style the density can change a bit, but in this blog we have laid out some of the general density levels each brand uses. This is a great tool to guide your wig search and give you a better direction when ordering your next hair piece!
If you are looking for a low or light density wig, we recommend the following brands:
Jon Renau Smartlace Lite collection
(The styles from left to right are: Belle Tress Ceremony, Jon Renau Cameron Lite, Ellen Wille Java, Belle Tress Anatolia )
Looking for something with more of a medium density? The following brands fall right in the middle of that density scale:
Jon Renau (with the exception of their Smartlace Lite collection which has a lighter density)
(The styles from left to right are: Henry Margu Hannah, Orchid Envious, Fair Fashion Aura, Jon Renau Camilla)
Like LOTS of hair? You may want to opt for one of the high density brands below:
(The styles from left to right are: Rene of Paris Kourtney, TressAllure California Beach Waves, Gabor Bouncy Beauty, Noriko Reese)
With some brands you can get a variety in density from style to style. For these we recommend reading the description of each style and comparing them to previous purchases. You will find this information if you scroll down under the color and size selections on our website. This description will tell you the length of all sides, the weight, and the cap size, along with a brief description of the wig and cap. If you compare this info with other styles you have bought it can help you figure out how dense a style is! Specifically make note of the cap type and weight.
A few examples of brands that vary in density are:
(The styles from left to right are: Hairdo Textured Cut, Estetica Sutton, Estetica Becky, Envy Isabella)
If you found this interesting, and are still hungry for more, click here for another blog that talks more about wig density!
From all of us on the NBW team, we hope you found this information helpful when looking for the right amount of hair for you!!

It's finally summer! This means boat rides, walks on the beach, and longer days. Life is good in the summer. One thing that can ruin the happy summertime mood is heat. No one wants to feel icky and sweaty on the sunny days when you are supposed to be having fun! If you are worried about overheating in the summer because of a wig, then an Open Cap or Capless wig may be a perfect fit for you!
Open cap or capless wigs are an affordable option that is very similar to the standard/ traditional wig cap. These are made with open light weight wefting on the top of the wig cap. Whereas a standard/ traditional cap has wefting on top, but it is closed off with a lace-like material. There are open spaces between the wefting in open cap/capless wigs to help keep the head cooler, especially in hot or sunny weather. The open cap has superior ventilation, is very light weight, and is durable as well.
Open Wefted Top + Back - Allows superior ventilation for maximum scalp cooling with machine wefting.
Open Ear Tabs - Allows customization with bendable wire.
Adjustable Tabs - Allows the wearer to adjust the circumference.
Velvet Front Hairline/Nape - Allows for increased hairline comfort. Nape area includes two vertical bendable wires which allow for customization.
Now that it is clearer what open cap or capless wigs are, let's dig into some of my personal favorite capless wigs for this summer!
If you want to be as cool as possible, then maybe a short length capless wig is perfect for you. These looks are not only chic for hot days but sophisticated too! Just remember to apply extra sunblock to the back of your neck and shoulders. 😉
Click here for all open cap/capless styles.
Is short hair not for you? Well, long hair will never go out of style! If you want beautiful long locks for your summer festivities, then here are some perfect capless looks for you. Now, all you need is a sundress and sandals!
Click here for all open cap/capless styles.
My favorite beach look ALWAYS includes bouncy curls or waves. Here are some capless wigs to help you achieve a flawless look for some fun in the sun. (If you want to complete the beachy look, the Estetica Sea Salt Spray would go PERFECT with these wigs!)

Whether you are spending your days outside or inside, we hope you have a fun and safe Summer! Stay cool out there, and if you found this post helpful, feel free to spread the joy to a friend! -NBW Family

]]>If your wig doesn't look the same as it did when you bought it, it might be time for a new wig. You may be wondering, "is it really time for me to buy a new wig, or does my wig just need some TLC?" Sometimes, you can extend the life of your wig by giving it some special attention.
Let's start with the basics of wig TLC:
Make sure that you are using the correct brush for your wig type. Wide tooth combs are great for synthetic wigs and round boar bristle brushes and paddle brushes are used for human hair wigs. Using the correct brush will prevent unnecessary breakage on the hair fiber. Do not brush your hairpiece when wet.
(Synthetic Fiber) |
(Human Hair) |
Jon Renau - Round Boar Bristle Brush (Human Hair) |
It is important to wash your wig every six to ten wears, depending on your lifestyle. You need to use a shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for the hair fiber you are washing. Cleansing your wig will leave your hairpiece looking refreshed and back in action. Make sure to condition your wig to help tame the fiber. Then, dry your wig by wrapping it in a towel to absorb any excess water (do not rub the hair) and let the wig naturally air dry. When washing a human hair wig, make sure to blow dry it to achieve nice, smooth hair.
Click here for a video on how to wash your synthetic hair.
Click here for a video on how to wash human hair.
Using products like the HD Smooth Detangling Spray will add extra protection to your wigs by keeping the fibers tame and preventing fraying. The Estetica Revitalize & Shine Wig Mist will help add weightless moisture and beautiful shine to your synthetic wigs.
You brushed, cleansed, and revived your wig but, it still doesn't bounce back to life like before, then this might be a good indication that it is time for a new wig.
Other signs that it is time for a new wig:
Ultimately, it is up to you when you feel it is time to replace the wig for a new one. I hope this post gave you some new tips and ideas for reviving the stiff wig in your life! If you found it helpful, feel free to send it to a friend!

Whether you are new to alternative hair, or you are a true veteran wearer, it seems like there is always more to learn in the wig world. We have compiled a list of simple, yet impactful tips to help you achieve a natural looking hair experience and allow your wig to blend perfectly to you.
Simple steps before you even purchase your wig can help the process of having natural looking hair. For example, it's a must to measure your head so that you are sure you are looking at the accurate size for your needs (see our video guide). Don’t be afraid to take your time to review the many brands and styles on our website. There are a lot of options out there and making sure you get the one right for you is worth it! Click here for a great blog of ours that helps break down the things to consider when buying a wig.
We know life can be chaotic and busy, but if you just take a little bit of time to invest into learning about your needs and how that can translate to what you need in a wig, it will lead to a more natural and comfortable fit for you.
Also, YouTube has many great resources for wig education, our personal favorites are:
and of course, Name Brand Wigs
Choose a wig color and style close to your bio hair. This first tip may be obvious, but still important! Finding a piece that is close to your original hair can be a lifesaver, especially for people that are new to wigs. It helps the transition into the wig world feel all that much safer.
Click here for a blog that breaks down the wig color options.
Wig to the right: Ellen Wille Affair Hi in Chocolate Mix
Find a wig color that suits your skin tone. Do you have cool, warm or a neutral tone? Picking a color that matches your skin tone will help unify your tone and hair color to what would look natural for you. This trick is what will make a style "pop" on you! Want to know which tone works best with your skin type? Learn More
Choose a wig that matches your style. We have such an array of styles; there is something for everyone! Short, long, curly, straight wigs... synthetic wigs, and human hair wigs, we've got it all. To achieve a more natural look for you, it can be wisest to match how you typically style your hair.
Try out rooted colors for a more natural look. Rooted colors give the illusion of “natural” new hair growing out of your scalp. It is a natural process for your biological hair to turn lighter at the ends or have color variations. These dimensions and color gradients are what makes a hair color unique. A wig with only one color tends to look flat, and sometimes fake. With rooted colors, the wig can follow the natural gradient that your bio hair might have.
Interested in learning more about rooted colors? Click here
From left to right the styles are Henry Margu Natalie in 8/27/26GR, Jon Renau Angelique in FS17/101S18, Rene of Paris Rylee in Mochaccino-LR, and Belle Tress Bona Vita in Butterbeer Blonde
If wig is too thick, try taking it to a professional stylist for it to be thinned or to be tweaked to your personal style. This will help you feel more comfortable in the wig and can help ease the transition into wearing a wig.
Ever find your new synthetic hair appears too shiny? Dry Shampoo is a super quick fix to cut back on shine! It instantly dulls the shine factor without affecting your color and blends in so you can't even see it. After the first 2-3 washes, the shine automatically starts to dull down.
Human hair wig fiber is of course the most natural looking. If human hair wigs are not the right fit for you, synthetic wigs have made advancements and are of very high quality as well. Synthetic fiber requires minimal maintenance, less of a cost investment than human hair, and keeps its original style. While human hair fibers have the most natural look and feel, unlimited styling options, and last the longest of all the fibers. Ultimately, wearing human hair or synthetic wigs comes down to personal preference and what your lifestyle looks like.
Lace fronts and monofilament tops add that extra flare that leave people with no doubt that is your real hair. Monofilament, often abbreviated to “Mono”, is a fine mesh material that each hair fiber is individually pulled through and tied. This gives the appearance of a real scalp, as each hair looks like it is growing individually. The hand tied strands also allow for more versatility; with you being able to part the hair anywhere. A lace front is the same concept, but it outlines the hairline. So, even if your piece doesn’t have a mono top, the lace front will still allow you to push the hair out of your face, and a beautiful, natural hairline shows.
Want to learn more about the different cap constructions? Click here
Pro Tip: Try applying a dot of foundation on the lace front area, or the hair part. This can help blend the lace material to your skin tone.
Lastly, our most important tip, wear your wig with confidence and a smile! Know that you are beautiful! We hope you enjoyed our post and that you have found a few tips to help your wig-wearing journey. If you found it helpful, spread the joy to a friend!

]]>Being active and working out can be a difficult task when trying to wear a hairpiece. We have gathered our best advice and tips to make sure your hair loss doesn’t slow you down!
If you work out regularly, you might find it useful to keep a separate topper or wig for the gym. Sweating in your more expensive hair piece will not ruin or damage it, however it may cause the wig cap/hair to become dirty more quickly, resulting in the need for more frequent washing. This will add wear and tear to your pieces over time. Also, the amount of movement and repetition while working out can cause the hair piece to rub against your clothing and create frizzing. So, if you work out regularly, using an old or worn-down hairpiece for working out can help keep your more expensive or new pieces in better condition. Also, to help reduce that friction, make sure to pull your longer hair back into a low hairdo to help restrict the extra movement.
If you wear a full wig while being active, we suggest trying out the hair product Headline It! This product can be secured to the top of your wig and it helps draw sweat away from the skin and keeps you dry, resulting in less frequent washing of your wig.
While being active and moving around, wearing a wig grip could just save your hair experience! A wig grip will help keep the wig secure on your head and allow you the freedom to be active without fear of your wig slipping off.
|
|
Another simple tip could be wearing a hat to help hold your wig down. A hat is not only a super cute style to exercise in, but also helps keep your wig in place as you are being active. Simply putting on your favorite baseball cap over wig will help you feel confident that your hair is secure.
You can also try wearing a head band around your wig. This is another excellent way to give yourself some extra wearing security, and might I add, it's super cute.
A halo can be a lot cooler as you work out due to the whole top of the piece being open and breathable. Because the top is open, you do have to wear a hat, but this will help keep everything secure and held down. Here is a wonderful video by Denise Sheets where she talks about her experience wearing halos!
Here are some halos we carry:
|
You can also try out the Henry Margu Hat hairpiece. This product is a mix of a halo and a hat all in one! There are various lengths and three different colors of baseball caps. This product is light weight and will help keep you cool as you are exercising.
Here is a video taking a closer look at the Henry Margu Hats:
Our last pro tip: we would suggest having a to-go-bag for your wig accessories, so you can be ready for any adventure. Don't let your hair keep you home!
Whatever way you find your exercise, I hope this post gave you some new tips and ideas for staying active! If you found it helpful, feel free to send it to a friend!
