Hottest Tips to Keep Your Cool This Summer!

Finally, summer is upon us! Up here in Minnesota, we are known for our snowy and cold winters, but thankfully, that is not the case all year long. Our summer days are beautiful and HOT! You can catch me soaking up the sun at the lake all summer long. Although wearing a wig can feel hot and heavy, I’m going to share some of my favorite tips so that you can soak up those rays while staying comfortable and cool all summer long.

Tip 1: Choose The Right Fiber

Heat Friendly synthetic fibers are your best friend when it comes to staying cool in the heat. They are typically lightweight and retain less heat compared to human hair. These fibers are formulated to absorb those rays while keeping your wig undamaged and in perfect condition.

Tip 2: Choose The Right Cap

I would recommend a capless wig for the summer months. They are lightweight, breathable, and cooler compared to other caps. Jacqueline meets all the requirements for a perfect summer wig! She is capless, short, and available in light colors. Also, check out this “cool” product to keep your cap cool. The Headline It stops sweat from rolling in your eyes, traps oils and odors, and most importantly, keeps your head nice and cool.

Tip 3: Keep It Short And Sweet (And Light🙂)

Just like the clothes you wear, the darker the color, the hotter you will feel. Darker hair is going to absorb that heat, making it harder to keep your cool. In addition to that, short bobs and pixies are the way to go if you want to beat the heat. Take a look at the Estetica True - Sunlit Blonde, this looks like the perfect summer color to me!

Tip 4: Try Something Different

Instead of a full wig, maybe try a cute Hat, Headband, or Turban! Switching it up might be out of your comfort zone, but I want to encourage you to try something new. Who knows, you might find your new favorite piece!

Tip 5: Keep It Clean

My final tip of the day might not necessarily keep you cool, but it feels just as important when wearing wigs during the summer months. It's no secret we sweat more in the heat. It's important to wash our wigs a little more often in hot weather to remove sweat buildup and unwanted odors. Consider a summer Wig Care Kit to ensure your wig is taken care of, no matter what your travel plans might be.

Final Thoughts

Wherever you plan to spend your summer days, remember to stay hydrated, take breaks to let your scalp breathe, and maybe even bring a mini fan along.

Happy Summer!
